Maths Word Problem Hour

Namaste,
Today we started our Word Problem Hour. We worked in groups of four and tried to solve some maths problems. Our focus was not only finding the answer, but also working collaboratively such as taking turns, listening to our group members ideas, asking questions and making sure that everyone in the group was involved. This is the page we worked from .

Gracie's Poem

We wrote about how we felt in the hall when the Warriors visited us. Here is Gracie's poem expressing her feeling.

Warriors in the Hall
As they asked the question
I realised what I was in to win
I felt as though I could spin
My hand shot up as quick as a bull in a pack...
They missed me, but then they came back

He handed me a bag with a band, he said congrats,
I said Oh thanks
I took it off him, look what I've won
I could feel the tingle in my lungs
It was the best of school days.
