Global Village

A few things that we found out during our discussion about race relations:

1. New Zealand is one of the most ethnically diverse nations on earth and we are also one of the most peaceful.
2. The change in our society has happened very fast, in less than a generation.
3. In New Zealand, communities across the country host hundreds of events on and around the
21st of March to mark Race Relations Day.

We reflected on this and our questions is :

What can we do as a nation to preserve the diversity and peacefulness?

During Race Relations Day, we started creating a global village poster. Here are some of us busy at work creating our global village people.

Below is a pic collage of Room 25 diligently working on our global village poster.
It is a work in progress and we will upload the completed poster at a later date.

  1. Hi Room 25,
We were wondering, how many different cultures there are in Room 25. When we added up the different cultures in our class, we found out that there are 10 different cultures. This is quite a lot, especially as we only have 21 students in our class!!!
